In previous parables Jesus teaches us that the seed represents the word of God, particularly the gospel. The Lord’s Supper is about remembering the gospel. In this parable, what does Jesus teach us?
When the seed (the gospel) is planted, it grows powerfully. A little seed can grow a huge plant. A little preaching of the gospel can produce great results and change lives a lot.
Therefore, our responsibility is to sow the seed, spreading the gospel everywhere we can. When we do this, there will be great results. Great things can happen when we sow just a little seed. Now is a good time to remember how powerful is the gospel and how much we need to spread it.
